Men's Club Local Rules

Updated 6/13/2018

If these local rules conflict with the scorecard, these local rules take precedence.
  1. On hole #2:
    1. On or over the road is out of bounds.
    2. The dry creek bed (rocks) left of the cart path is an abnormal ground condition.  Free relief to your nearest point of relief (stance) plus one club-length.
  2. Unmarked wooded and long grass areas may be played as a lateral hazard*.  If a cart path is adjacent to the area, treat the inner boundary of the cart path as the hazard line.
  3. In bunkers:
    1. You are allowed to remove stones from around and under your ball (no penalty).
    2. If the ball is in an animal track, place the ball at the nearest point of relief within the bunker, no closer to the hole.  Human footprints are not considered animal tracks.
    3. If your ball lies on or if your swing is affected by exposed landscape lining in the bunker, you are entitled to free relief.  You may choose to place your ball either (1) within one club-length of the nearest relief, no nearer the hole or (2) at any point on a line backwards from the pin to where your ball currently lies.  Relief must be within the bunker.
  4. When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved.  The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced.
  5. When WINTER RULES are in effect:
    1. Lift, clean, and place your ball within 1 club-length no closer to the hole
    2. Allowed anywhere on the course except hazards, bunkers, greens, and within 1 club-length of a tree.
  6. There are drop areas provided on holes 3, 10, and 16.  On hole #16, the drop area also applies to shots into the woods.
  7. For Wednesday Night events, the Men’s Club Board in accordance with the note in Rule 7-1, allows competitors to practice (i.e. take advantage of the $10 extra holes offer from the course) and play on the course (any holes) prior to the nightly events.
  8. For Weekend Stroke Play tournaments, the board prohibits practice on the course on the day of the event in accordance with rule 7-1b.  Playing the course before the event will result in Disqualification from the tournament.

* Lateral hazard relief options (w/1 stroke penalty):
  1. a. Re-hit from original spot;
  2. Drop a ball behind the hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the hazard directly between the hole and the and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind the hazard the ball may be dropped; or
  3. Drop a ball outside the hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than
    1. the point where the original ball last crossed the margin of the hazard or
    2. a point on the opposite margin of the hazard equidistant from the hole.

Men’s Club Board has the right to adjust an individual’s handicap index for Men’s Club Events. This will not be done without a conversation with the individual first.

Tie Breakers

Wednesday night events will be handled with a card off. The Card off consists of taking the tied players gross scores and comparing them on the hardest (lowest handicap) hole played. If the score is still tied after that, move to the next hardest hole and so on.

If all tied after all holes played with gross, then we will call it a tie and split the winnings.

Tournaments will have tied positions paid out. There will be one exception to this for the Club Championship Champion.  If there is a tie in the Club Championship for low gross we will have a sudden death playoff until resolved with all involved in the tie for champion. The remaining tied positions will be divided up and paid out.
